About Computing

Computing will help readers carry out everyday digital tasks with a clear purpose and a way to check the result. Expect the editorial focus to include account protection, file organization, backups and the tools people use to work or learn. The starting point is what you want to do, not which product has the loudest sales pitch.

Instructions will identify the platform or service they apply to. A useful guide should tell you what to prepare, when to stop and what evidence would show that the task worked. Where menus or features depend on a particular version, the wording should make that boundary clear.

The channel will not ask readers to post passwords, recovery codes or private files. Workplace systems deserve their own approval and support process; a personal how-to is not permission to bypass it. Security coverage will avoid promises that a single setting makes an account invulnerable.

Before following a guide, check that it matches your device and that you understand any step that could delete or replace something. Keep irreplaceable files out of experiments. The intended reading experience is patient and practical, with room to learn a term without committing to an unfamiliar tool.

Publishing cadence: twice-weekly
